The Frost family ‘connected’ with the Royle Family on 14th June 1941 at the Holy
Trinity Parish Church in Rusholme, Manchester. The event was the marriage of Irene
Royle and Harold Victor Frost. Irene, born in 1921 was the daughter of Harold Howard
Royle and Annie Pennock; from research this particular line of Pennocks came from
Wetwang in Yorkshire, moving to Manchester in 1860. Unfortunately Annie died in
1923 when Irene was only two years old. Harold Howard Royle later married Lily Bebbington
in 1927 at the same church Irene later married.
Obviously, in 1941, Harold Frost was a soldier fighting overseas, returning to marry in his uniform. Irene had an older brother, Norman, born in 1917. He married Dorothy Smith and they had two children, Howard and Elaine, the family living on the Wirral at Greasby.
Harold died in 1975 at a fairly tender age of 55; Irene outlived him by more than 30 years, passing away in June 2006. There
were three children from the marriage, Geoffrey, Lynda and
Anthony, all currently living in the North West of England.
